C2 Building Group completed a 46,000 SF tenant improvement project for Abbott Rapid Diagnostics in Carlsbad, consisting of approximately 75% lab and 25% office space. The buildout was strategically phased to allow for early occupancy of the office portion, requiring close coordination with FPBA and the City of Carlsbad. The project reached successful completion in April 2019.

This technically complex project featured multiple specialized lab spaces, each with unique mechanical, plumbing, and gas service requirements—including humidification and pressurization systems. C2 provided new MEP systems, along with all interior finishes, while working closely with Abbott’s team to meet their rigorous standards for commissioning and validation. The project highlights C2 Building Group’s proven ability to manage dense, high-spec lab environments for global life science clients with demanding operational needs.
